Jazz Festival Kickoff in The Birdy Room

Kick off Jazz Festival weekend in Detroit with soulful sounds and sweeping city views. You’re invited to Birdy Sessions, an evening of live jazz in our coveted Birdy Room featuring renowned local musicians: Multi-award-winning jazz, soul and R&B vocalist Kathy Kosins, bassist and 2025 Kresge Eminent Artist Award recipient Marion Hayden, celebrated pianist Michael Malis, and the talented Tariq Gardner on percussion. 

Designed to celebrate the city’s jazz community and set the mood for the weekend ahead, this event will feature a strolling format across the Birdy Room and outdoor terrace with limited lounge seating.

Guests will have access to our private Birdy Room bar throughout the event with a curated selection of cocktails, beer, wine and more available for purchase.
